Community Guidelines
SkillSwap runs on trust. These guidelines keep swaps fair, safe, and worth doing for everyone.
Be honest about your skills
Only offer services you're genuinely qualified to do. If a job needs a licence (electrical, plumbing, building, etc.), say so and show it. Overselling lets everyone down.
Agree on scope before starting
Use the Trade Agreement to write down exactly what each person will do, by when, and who supplies materials. Ambiguity up front becomes disputes later.
Communicate clearly
Reply to messages promptly, confirm details in writing through the app, and flag any change of plan as early as possible.
Respect each other's time
Show up when you say you will. If something comes up, tell the other person straight away — don't leave them waiting.
Leave honest reviews
After the swap, rate how it went honestly and fairly. Reviews are how the community builds trust and keeps quality high.
Problems with a swap?
If something goes wrong, use "Raise an issue" on the trade to flag it. Be specific and fair in your description — most disagreements come down to unclear expectations, which the Trade Agreement is designed to prevent.
